For those not in the know: in the 1990s, a well-known brand (first name Z, last name Ara) posted up in New York and very quickly after word spread of fast fashion in the states. To this day, fast fashion has changed the landscape of fashion in its entirety: trends have since flown by, and overall waste has increased immensely as these fads come and go. Rose + Bull’s mission as a pair is to reverse this trend by encouraging people to invest in high-quality, long-term pieces also known as slow fashion. In The New Millennium, Lizann and Jalyn and their contributing designers will be re-imagining the decade’s fashion trends if they were made with the intention to last.

With a legion of local vintage retailers in tow, they hope to reach their audience this weekend by making sustainable fashion not only attainable but appealing. These brilliant and talented people have come together to present the best pieces from the turn of the century, which is likely to delight the millennials in the crowd and inspire Minnesota fashion for months to come.

Following the runway event is a pop-up market and mingling event where attendees will get the first pick of these throwback looks as soon as they hit the hangers. But worry not! Even though the event finishes at 4 pm, every contributor to the event is located within the twin cities. Should you become overwhelmed with networking, browsing, or soaking up the vintage 2000s vibes, you’ll still be able to still invest in this sustainable fashion movement throughout Fashion Week MN and beyond.

Moreover, attendees of the event will also have the opportunity to be front and center to raise funds for Rose + Bull’s larger community mission: Creative Kuponya, an organization that helps provide mental health services to marginalized groups. For the third year, Rose + Bull will be putting their focus on both ethical fashion and Creative Kuponya’s group healing venture: utilizing art and body movement to bring members together to express themselves and heal as a community.
